Born in the shadow of Monte Emilius and Becca di Nona—two peaks that tower above the city of Aosta—Syrah 870 finds its unique expression at 800 meters above sea level. The wine is divided into three lots and vinified separately: one matures in French oak barriques after fermenting in large oak vats, while the other two ferment and age on the skins in amphora and Tuscan orcio. The result is a deep ruby red wine, rich and velvety on the palate, with elegant aromas of blackberries, blackcurrant, and black pepper.
